Today - 14 youth teams and a development squad, 250 players, 48 volunteers with CRB checked status, 14 FA trained coaches at Level 1 and 1 at Level 2, 18 attended emergency aid courses, 19 attended safeguarding children courses.

The club was formed in 1996 under the name of Silfield United. At the start of the 2006/07 season the club changed its name to Wymondham Town United Football Club and has close links with Wymondham Town Football Club to allow natural progression into senior football.

The club has grown from a single side in 1996 to teams ranging across all age groups and several girls teams with increased number of age groups. See our teams section. Our boys teams play and train at Ketts Park, whilst our girls teams train and play at Spooner Row.

Wymondham Town United Football Club continue to have a growing commitment for the enjoyment of youth football and to this end received the Charter Mark award from the Football Association during November 2007. Jonathan White is the Charter Co-ordinator for the club. In brief, the Charter Mark represents a stamp of quality and ensures that guidelines & codes of conduct are in place so that all that belong to the club enjoy their football within a safe environment. It also forges links with schools through the FA to attract new boys and girls and also provides additional support from the FA and the Football Foundation ensuring the most up to date laws of the game and coaching are brought into play.

In the 07/08 season a new set of club rules and codes of conduct were adopted. It is important that all parents, players and everyone involved with the club, read these carefully. A copy of these rules and codes are available on this web site and a paperback version is available from the managers.

In July 07 we were successful in obtaining a grant from the Football Foundation to replace all of our 3/4 and full sized goals. Earlier this year we also relaced all of our development squad goals. This will bring all of our equipment to the correct ISO quality standard.

During February 08 the club started a FA 3 Lions programme for girls. This started with out of hours school learning, supporting FITC coaches at Wicklewood and Robert Kett Junior School.  Later a festival of football will be organised by Junior Football Organisers at Wymondham High Schhol followed by a 4 week Saturday programme at Ketts Park, which was held in April.

In May 2008 the club was successful in securing vouchers valued at £800 from the Football foundation. The club has purchased new first aid kits and different pieces of agility training equipment for the teams. Thanks to the FA the club has also received new Umbro match balls for the 2008/09 season.

September 2008 the club was awarded the FA Charter Standard Club of the County. The FA commented that the club achieved it's Charter Status five months ahead of the plan and worked hard in developing new initiatives including, a new database to manage the football coaches and volunteers, developing school links under the FA 3 Lions banner and obtaining grants from the Football Foundation for new goals and equipment.

June 2009 - A new sports pavillion at Ketts Park will be built and planned to be completed early in 2010. This facility will host 4 changing rooms, officials rooms, lockers, kitchen and a viewing gallery which will also be used for meetings and other community groups.

August 2009 - The club has been awarded a £3000 grant from the Football Foundation for new mini soocer goals.
